End to End testing with Example

Could anybody explain in detail what is end to end testing with an example?

Hi All,

Its really tough to describe end to end testing accurately. But I will try to make you guys understand by one example. Suppose One tester is doing the testing of an application named A(front end) ,its going to the backend system (say B), through some supporting systems (Say c,d,e or many more),so the test success or failure depends upon all the systems (means how they are responding or interacting with immediate next system). So You can consider A as one end and system B as second. This is what End to end testing means.
