Sheet Metal forming

After giving a bend to the sheet it will become rigid Why?

It acts to reinforce the metal. Similar to an i-beam. By adding a bend, it adds another axis to the metal which in turn reinforces the sheet. If you bend it again, it will become even more rigid.
