Functional test cases tests the basic functionality of the product.
For water heater we can have following test cases:
1. Verify if it heats the water.
2. Check if it satisfied the claims mentioned in specification document like: electricity consumption, works on 3-Phase or 1-Phase current, maximum capacity of water it can heat, risk factors and protection factors (from current).
3. The weight of the geyser.

Question to ask from Interviewer: Is it a geyser or a simple water heater
rod?


TCs for water heater rod:
Acceptance Test case:
Verify if the water heater heats given amount of water in specified time.


Functional Test Case:
Verify heating water with water heater at minimum water level.
Verify heating water with water heater at maximum water level.
Verify heating water below minimum level then the water heater should not burn.

Verify heating water above maximum level of water level is specified.


Performance Test case:
Verify heating water for long period of time and observe the time when the
heater fails.


UI Test Case:
Verify the shape of the water heater is designed in a way that it creates
maximum heat effect.


Security Test case:
Verify the water heater should be shock proof.
Verify the circuit inside the water heater box should be water proof.


Usability Test Case:
Verify the water heater box at the top does not get heated up after heating
water with water heater.
