Priming mainly used in centrifucal pumps is a process used to remove the air gap present in the rotor casing. This is necessary because if air is present in the casing, suction will not be intiated. the air alone will keep rotating and water will not be absorbed.

Priming is the process of filling water in centrifugal pump suction strainer to casing upto the delivery valve or priming point. It will remove the air from the suction side of the pump. In centrifugal pump, the liquid pumped is directly propotional to the density of the working fluid. If air is present its density is less than water, so water will not suck to the pump suction.

is process by removing air that trap inside pump casing or at suction pipe, before filling a process liquid, open or remove the valve for air bleeding until you can't see any bubbles.
