Discrepancy in Code

If you think a piece of code should work one way, and the developer says it should work another way, what would you do to resolve the conflict?

You should first try to verify with the functional specification document and if the developer still does not agree you can escalate it to higher level after consulting with the team lead.

If there is a discrpancy in code then the best approach is to check the requirement documents for functionality.

If the functionality is misunderstood by the tester then he will not raise a bug and to make things clear he can involve the business analyst.

But if the functionality is misunderstood by the developer then he can check with the business analyst and then this issue can be raised as a defect.
