Handle this Situation

As a tester you raised the bug at Built 1. After retest you didn't got any status from Developer. On Next build, you execute the same test case and noted that the bug is fixed and closed the status. While at live, client/customer caught the same bug in UAT by executing the Test case. On this case how you will face the problem up on to Client & Project Manager?

Hi Mathan,

I think I will clearly explain the situation to Project Manager in presence of the Developer dealing with this bug.

The two things missing in situations are,

1. If the process is to raise the bug at built 1 and then once fixed should be sent back to tester to re-test (or even regression testing should be done for some cases) it and then passed for staging or release. So here it is not sent back to tester (according to your situation). So a proper system should be put in place.

2. Since no notification has been provided by Developer, I would provide the built label and the time and even the defect number to notify that the issue has been identified at the built 1 stage before the release  and has been closed as fixed by whoever the developer was.
