QTP supports Terminal Emulator using Terminal Emulator Addin.
In QTP 9.5 most of all addins available in the setup file. It is mandatory that to install Addins, select the option "Custom" instead of Typical installation.
After successful installation it asks for Configuration Settings and displays a Wizard.
Complete the process and work with TE Objects.

QTP supports the following Terminal Emulators
AttachMate, HummingBird, IBM, NetManage, Seagull, WRQ, Zephyr

Using these emulators users can access IBM i-Series applications like Mainframe/AS400.

Configuration Settings for TE in QTP depends on the verison type of QTP as well as verison type of TE.
QTP 9.2 supports HummingBird 12.0, 10.0, 9.0 , 8.0 versions only but not the higher verisons(need to install one more patch to access 12.0 and 109.o verisons)
QTP 9.5 supports all Verisons of HummingBird.

You need to change Global settings in HummingBird Application as well to work with QTP.

I configured succesfully and I am able to access AS/400 application using QTP 9.5 verison & HummingBird 13.0 verison.

Only Terminal Emulator does not solve the problem. You will need to have the Attachmate Extreme inorder to automate the Mainframe application. This Attachmate software acts as a middleware for QTP in recognising the fields in the Mainframe screen.
