Why CTs are connected in star on T/F delta connected winding side & in delta on T/F star connected winding side for T/F differential protection?

This is in order to compensate for phase shift due to Star/Delt or Delta/Star connections of primary and secondary windings. Becuase if the phase shift is not compensated, differential protection will operate.

we need to connect star connection of the CT secondary in Delta side of transfomer and delta connection of CT secondary to starside to bring all the voltage and current vector in same phase ..and pilot current injecting in the differential relay should be same magnitude.

The differential relay will not activate when we energize the transformer as the relay will activate only if there is a difference in the flow of current and that to if it exceeds the setting values.
