Performance management is a way to measure the performance of all the employees in the organization and give them the correct feedback for more improvement.

There are many ways to do Performance Appraisal:
1. 90 degree appraisal-- Where the performance feedback is taken only from the Supervisor
2. 180 degree appraisal-- Where the performance feedback is taken from the peers.
3. 360 degree appraisal-- Where the performance feedback is taken from the supervisor, the subordinates , the peers and the self appraiser.

RE: Performance management
What have been explained is performance appraisal and not performance management. Performance Management is a continuous process of identifying measuring developing performance of individuals and teams and aligning the performance with strategic goals of the organization.

Performance Appraisal is a part of Performance Management a mere step in it.

There are basically different branches of Performance Management :
1. Employee PM
2. Business PM
3. Operational PM
4. Integrated Business Planning
5. Project Performance Management
6. Customer Performance Management.
