Electronics to IT

Hi,
I completed dip. in Electricals and electronics in 2003. I was working for siemens building technologies in electronics field.Meanwhile I am doing my finall year part time B.E in computer science at anna university. Deciding to make a carrier move three months back, I had quit from siemens, finished Asp.net course and looking for a job in IT industry. I thought one year experience+B.E certificate next year would help. Is this a wise decision?
