The person who is expert on that application should be the reviewer. In our company we are working on banking domain. Our module leader is perfect on almost all modules. He is the reviewer for all our works what we have done. We will be having review meeting every week.

If your company is going to conduct a review meeting, who should be on the review committee and why?

Ans: Review on what??  there would be so many types of reviews.. mostly review meeetings will be done by SQA people.. they r having their lead, manager, sqa members... why means it has to be done by SQA as they are the quality controllers and assurances.

What activity is done in Acceptance Testing, which is not done in System testing?

I feel we can do usability testing and there would be a separate set of test cases for UAT.

You are a tester for testing a large system. The system data model is very large with many attributes and there are a lot of inter-dependencies within the fields. What steps would you use to test the system and also what are the effects of the steps you have taken on the test plan?

As a tester if i dont have the time to test then i can go for adhoc testing...

And will try to cover all the functinalties in the dependies too...

The attendees of the review meeting should be:

1) Persons with expertise in areas covered in the meeting

2) Persons who require information pertaining to subjects covered in the meeting

3) Persons who have vested interest in the outcome of the meeting

Q2: Write any three attributes which will impact the Testing Process.

The quality of the product released to test, the resources allocated to test it, and the time available for testing will all impact the test process. Therefore, I believe the three major attributes impacting the testing process are:

1) Product

2) Resources

3) Time

Q3: What is the activity done in Acceptance Testing which is not done in System testing?

1) Testing is performed by client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) rather than testers from the development company.

2) Testing is often performed based on acceptance test scripts. These are user stories (or narratives) that guide users through the test process.

3) Testing can lead to a contractual sign-off between client and provider.

Q4: You are testing a large system. The system data model is very large with many attributes and a lot of inter-dependencies within the fields. What steps would you use to test the system? How would you present this in a test plan?
 

1) First, I would read and understand all supporting documentation and determine how well these documents cover the complexities of the system's attributes and interdependencies.

2) If these documents aren't sufficient, I would request additional information from persons with the expertise to provide it. This may require additional documentation like Work-Flow Diagrams or Wireframes, or it may require revisions to already existing documentation such as the Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Technical Specification, System Design Document, etc..

3) Once the attributes and interdependencies are understood, we must establish a means to test them. This may require adding narrative use-cases to our test suite in order to ensure that interdependencies throughout various work-flow paths are examined.

4) Owing to the complexity of an application that has many attributes and interdependencies, I may need to add testers to my team.

5) If the application is mission-critical and has tremendous value to the organization, we may need to conduct usability studies with subject matter experts (SMEs) to help flesh out the business logic anomalies related to interdependencies.

6) Of course, the Test Plan will call out the test strategies, test scope, roles and responsibilities of all relevant stakeholders, as well as the deliverables required to test.
