QC administration - populating values from system defined field in an user defined field
I need to populate the data entered in releases tab (system defined field) into an user defined field in test plan for the test cases.
I don't want the test cases to be linked to the requirements which in turn needs to be linked to the releases. I would like to filter out the test cases directly from test plan and also keep the history of the modifications.

what do you mean by Releases tab? is it the Releases module?
what kind of data under the Releases module? it only have Name,Start  Date and End Date.

Yes it is the release module. I want the name to be populated as a dropdown field.
