When u log the defect or bug, u have to know whether status of the bugs. whether it is in retest, rejected or still in confirmed stages. So knowing this bug tracking system will use

Using bug trackng system both testers/developers can know the status of the bug at every stage.starting from new status to close status. so the persos who are using this  bug tracking sytem may know the status of the bug, like is it fiexed or not,is it closed or not. etc...

Role of Bug tracking system,


1) We can raise a defect
2) It will act as a centralized one for defects
3) Changes to the Status will be intimated to all team members through email
4) Contains Single format, so no question of deviations from person to person
while reporting a bug
5) Can Searching for defects
6) Can finding duplicates
7) Prepare status reports
8) Can attach files

The role of Bug Tracking system is to track the bug.
- To know the total bug raised.
- To know the total bug functionality wise.
- To know the status of the bug like Open, New, Reopen, Fixed, Resolved etc...
- To know the priority wise bugs.
- It is also used for various analytical studies.
- The majority types of defects like functionality, UI etc...
