RE: How to post defect found into Test Director
This will be a copy right breach to copy the screen shots with out permission from HP. I suggest downloading a Trial Version of Quality Center from HP web Site and try it your self Or you can search any demos available for TestDirector or quality center in HP or Google.

RE: How to post defect found into Test Director

First we write test case in excel sheet or directly in TD/MQC in test plan tab (design)

We will make review on the test case once the Test case is base-lined
We start
executing the test case manually in the MQC/TD
Select the test case which do
you want to execute
Click on run button a manual runner window opens

Select the build no from the drop down list
Start executing the Test case step by step

While executing the TC if the test case fails fail the particular TC
and from the same manual
runner window click on add defect icon
Once we click on this icon add defect tab window is going to open

In this window enter the bug description, severity, priority, step to reproduce
requirement id, detected author, bug-description, detected date

Take the screen shot
and enter the detail description then click on submit button.
I hope the above answer clear the doubt.
Regards
Anand
