M represents the major dia of the bolt

33 - major dia
2 -- represents the pitch of the thread

In M33*2

M means metric thread ,
metric thread means the thread angle is always 60 deg

33 is the outer dia of the bolt

2 is the pitch of the thread in mm

we can find out the minor dia of the bolt by using formula
minor dia =major dia -2h
(h=pitch * consant)
constant =0.61 to 0.65
