hi every one, can any one please answer to this questions. these questions were asked in an interview.

1.What type of metrics would you use?
2.Discuss what test metrics u feel r important to publish an organization?
3.Do u know of metrics that help u to estimate the size of the testing effort?
4.What is the role of the metrics in comparing staff performance in human resource management?

RE: Metrics
1.What type of metrics would you use?

Metrics used all depends upon the project and organisation.  In general the following metrics are followed with respect to testing and productivity

1. Defect Density
2. Defect leakage
3. Testing effort
4 . Defect Ageing


2.Discuss what test metrics u feel r important to publish an organization?

Importance of metrics depends upon our project.  In general the above metrics are considered as  important

3.Do u know of metrics that help u to estimate the size of the testing effort?

Test effort estimation

4.What is the role of the metrics in comparing staff performance in human resource management?

Yes this in one of the important things.  This is called skill set mapping.  This is required for HR, as to find out number of resources required for the project
