General Manager Promotion advice

Hi,
Would really appreciate if anyone could give their thoughts on this... I'm currently working in one of the largest MNC IT companies in the world in a sales role as a manager very close to home...hence all the "perks/benefits" and work/life balance with a 5 day work week... I've recently been offered the position of asst general manager with a large (but not MNC) organisation....salary wise both are nearly the same (except for the potential unlimited variable pay in the current sales role) ... now the situation is this is a 6 day workweek with extended hours and nearly 1.5 hrs away from home min... however the profile pretty much suits my qualifications as well as interests......but if i take this offer, really don't see much life outside the job...... I'm currently single, but plan to settle down in the near future...can you please help me decide what should i do

Work life balance is something people crib about all their life in current world. If you have plans to be a family person soon, better not to opt for the new offer. If you have enough time in hand, then can give a thought about it.

For me atleast what matters the most is being happy with the family. If I have tons of money and several challenging tasks at workplace and no time to spend with family, it doesn't give me happiness in the long run. So.. think what you like and what you prefer.
