As a QA tester my primary role on job was to write test cases manually. I was given the requirement specification from the team lead, the requirement specification states the modules of which the functionalities are to be tested for an application. so considering the functions to be performed by the module, my job was to write test cases.

It depends on the stage of project life cycle, in general in the early hours I will attend daily team meetings where I will inform team lead, what I are going to do for the day or else team lead might assign some high priority task to me and team members, I might write test cases, or else execute test cases, reporting defects, giving clarifications by interacting with developers thorugh mail or in person rearding defects,  or else i might take clarification regarding flow of application or functionality.....
