Why do we need to apply support package through client 000? Why can't we do it through some other client?

First of all its a nice question ...
We need to apply the support packages through client 000 because in SAP/3 we just have three default clients 000, 001, 066 and the most updated one is client 000 and thats the reason to copy a new client or to create a new client we copy it for 000 and we apply the support packageds through client 000 as its the most updated one in the entire system.

T-Code to apply support packages is spam.

Hi,

000 isthe standard client in SAP. we also have other standard clients like 001 and 066.
The client 066 is used as the early watch client, i.e. it is used whenever we need to check for correction in other clients. 001 client ll be used as the client in which all the users can be given access and users may log into that client. The client 000, we keep it as the standard and at any point of time if we need to obtain the original data we copy that data from the client 000. So whatever change we have to make, we ll start through the client 000 and then then we ll do client modifications by client copy. If we reverse this order by applying the patches to other client instead of 000 then we wud be overwriting the original data stored in 000.

We apply support packages through 000 client only because in this client "cross client object changes" options set to "changes to repository and cross client objects are allowed". Remaining client is set to "no changes to repository objects are allowed".

it is a wrong answer,
applying support packs from 000 client is best, why because 000 client is a cross client/master client also , what ever changes will do in the 000 client it effects to all the clients .so we should apply support packs from 000 client only.

As "000" is the Default/Golden/Master client provided by SAP with all the functionalities we apply sps through this.
