Question: 30 of 48

It is a festival (like Diwali) and you have rostered 1 person per shift. The person in the evening shift did not turn up and he is not even picking up the phone. How would you handle this situation? How would you manage the shift? How would you treat that person next day?

If that person is not picking the phone then instead of wasting time on
trying his phone again and again i would do try to find out someone from the
team who can handle the shift tonight. I will try to let him know about the
situation it is and until I get that person I would request the current person
to extend his/her shift until I get one. Also I would look for the option that
he someone is not able to handle entire shift then he can come for half shift
and will try to find out other person who can handle another half shift.

For the person who did not turn up on the shift first i would try to find out
the reason why he did not turn up as it could be some genuine as well. If not
then i would try to feel him in my shoes and will ask him if did not wanted to
come for the shift then why he agreed for that earlier. Also I will ask him to
ensure that this kind of thing is not happening in future as this kind of this
may harm the business.
