Boxir2 is a reporting based analysis, so BO will use OLAP for its report analysis, OLAP consists of summarized and analysed data which is staticÂ and based on this reports are generated.

BOXIR2 is a combination of both ROLAP AND MOLAP and this makes one diff between 6.5 and XIR2

Its a DOLAP solution because the cache is built dynamically, either on desktop in case of DeskI or on enterprise server in case of WebI.
We can also say it as a ROLAP because it BO provides automatic drill through to detail, server based ranking,aggragate navigation.
