What is the difference between Iterator and Enumeration

Iterator is returned by List and other Collection interfaces. 
Iterator is fail fast if a modification to the collection is performed while iterating. 
 
Enumeration is used by Vector and Hashtable. Enumeration may or may not throw an error if the collection is changed.
