How can you relate QTP and Test Director?If QTP itself has the facility to record,run and store actions and results then why go for TestDirector?

TestDirector is a management tool. You will only save you tests and results in TestDirector. QTP will not show results for all the available scripts, It can show result for one script at a time. In TD you can see the status (i.e. Passed or Failed or No Run) of all the available scripts.

One More thing is defects you cannot log your defects in QTP you need to log them in a excel sheet or mail or TestDirector.

1)QTP is one of the Automation tool,where as the Test director is one of test management tool.

2)In Qtp we dont have test director option where as in test mangement we have QTP option to one test script in QTP tool.

3)We can't save anything in Qtp tool where as we can able to all the test cases,test scripts and log defects all the informationwe can save in test mangement tool i.e Test director.
 
4)When we are running a test case in the Test Director we will relate them by selecting QTP option.
