What is a Web Server?
It’s a Computer that provides Web services on the Internet or on a local Intranet. It is designed to locate, address and send out simple HTML pages to all other users who access these pages.

Web server is a is a computer that runs a world wide web service and serve web pages and other content to http protocol complient clients ( web browser e.g. Internet Explorer ).

Hi

i can say the web server change the application server (i.e. has conatins the jsp asp pages) that convert into the html scripting language bcoz client browser only understand the html script and vice versa.

I think i m give the sufficient answer for that question.
