we can use the new data provider option in data tab.with using this option we can retrieve the data from different universes and personal data files.

Yes it is possible through Business View(BV) Managers XI R2.

Design the BV with multiple datasouce.
Assign BV as the datasource for the crystal reports.

we can use multiple data providers in a single report by creating two different queries for each of the data providers and then syncronising the result by merging the dimensions.
