from 1 to 40 there are 37 possible combinations of 4 consecutive numbers.....

we hav to choose 4 numbers from 1 to 40.....

so possible outcomes= 40C4...

thus, required outcome = 37/(40C4)=  1/2470

ANSWER= 1/2470

From 1 to 40 there are 37 possible combinations of 4 consecutive numbers.
Total number of possible combinations= 40C4.
Probability of outcome to be consecutive = 37/(40C4)= 1/2470
Probability of outcome not to be consecutive = 1-(1/2470)= 2469/2470
