syb_quit(0) command can be used to exit from Sybase database.

Quit (or) Exit commands typed from the Sybase prompts will quit from the database

Shutdown with wait - wait from other processes to be completed and then shutdown happens.

if "shutdown with nowait" - is used then SQL Server immediately shutdown and back to OS prompt
