answer to question number fuel economy is let say x is the original amount of fuel used without any economy then economy of 30 means fuel used is x(1-30/100) x(70/100) now further economy of 40 means fuel used is x(70/100)(60/100) further economy of 10 means fuel used is x(70/100)(60/100)(90/100).............(1)
so let take x 100 (original fuel without any economy) so from expression (1) we hav finally fuel used after economy 37.8
therefore
fuel saved is 62.2 (which is fuel saved wen our original fuel i.e x is 100 hence it represent percent also and which is our final answer )
answer to standard division is Xbar Mean of all given values S.D sqrt[{SQUARE(X1-Xbar)+SQUARE(X2-Xbar)+SQUARE(X3-Xbar)+........}/N]
so from formula u will notice dat one who have smaller mean(mostly 0) will hav good S.D and that is possible only when values given cancels each other
so just observe the value n u will find S.D
with best wishes
i hope my answers r rite plzz comment if i m wrong
