1. How would you start automation? (means at what point of time in your project)
2. Have you done back end testing?
3. How QTP recognize objects?
4. What are the errors you came across using QTP?
5. What you have used in QTP?
6. How would you run QTP Scripts from test director?


These are my interview questions.Please help me.

hi these r the answer for u r questions.plz let me know if i am wrong.

1.we start automation of the project when the project in the testing phase i mean when we conduct regression testing we go for automation.

2.ya we do backend testing for compatability.executing the applicaion in the previous version.
3.qtp recognise the object with the help of logical name. if logical name is same it identifies with msw_id.

You first create Automation Feasibility Report. If there is a possibility of Automation then Analyse the effort. For few projects Manual testing effort is less than Automation Testing. So In that case you continue with Manual Testing.

What point of time you start Automation?

When Automation is going to reduce the effort of manual testing you go for automation testing.
