Data about data is called Meta data.

Meta Data provides a context for data. It is used to faciliate the understanding,characteristics, and management usage of data. E.g. we have as:

metadata for :

Book: author,publisher,ISBN,and number or other data.

Camera: the photographtaken details like the date on which it was published and the details of the camera settings(lens,focal length etc.).
