Hi, This is Ram working as a system administrator I had installed the Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.1 and when i was configuring the repository server it is giving "the server could not contact" message, I never faced this problem before pls anybody had any solution pls send to me as early as possible i tried all the possible ways to solve this problem but i could not get it so pls help me in this regard.

Just deinstall and reinstal... while installing give system name as ur host name and keep that default port as (such i.e 5001) after giving these host name and port.Open repository administration console and create repository that time it will ask u user name and PWD thats is ur oracle account and give connectiong string as ORCL this is default,regards,RMA

Dear hope u r not configuring properly.
Steps follow.
1.Open configure informatica service screen after started the informatica repository server service. 2.Inside that from menu>>Server>> Give any name for ur repository server.Give the ur machine ip address what ever u have assigned.It u have assigned ur ip address by DHCP then in that box give ur machine name.Leave other things what ever is by default. 3.Repository>>Give repository name as u have create in repository administration console.Also give the repository user name as u have created in Repository manager windows or u can give Administrator what is by default. 4.Repository Server Host name should be ur machine name. 5.Server Port number is >> 5001 6. Time out should be 60 as by default coming. 7. Licenses>> Give the valid license keys in with key row and click to update button. 8. JVM options>> give this path if u have installed the informatica 7.1.1 on C:Program FilesInformatica PowerCenter 7.1.1Server 9. HTTP Server>> Server name should be ur machine name >>port number should be ur 5001 Click to apply to update ur licenses.Then click to ok and come out from the screen.It will works.

At the time of configuring the repository server just give the port number is 5001 and put a passwordThen start the service first then open the repository server administrator console.Just connect it will ask the pass word just type what ever u have given at the time of configuring the repository server configuration.

Hi Ram,
You could first go to repository manager give relational connection and then you could configure server add new and give details.Give port name as defined in the configue repository server and then call for resolve the server ip it will give ip , specify the server path where you want to have details of log files.
