We will use CRS for the test cases as they are from the customer and customer knows the requirement well then any body else

In some projects we are following HLD and in some project we are follwing SRS.

SRS will be prpared by the customer, HLD will be prepared by higher level people after the discussion with the clients.

By SRS we can directly get the details form customer,so it is easy to follow.

but in HLD the people will send to customer and discussed with client..modify..it is time consuming

As a tester it is better to fallow CRS document becouse we people testthe build from the customer point of views/ideas,where as developer's try to meet the customer requiement by do their job with respective to the HLD provided to them .

SRS document is Prepared by Proj manager based on CRS. HLD and LLD are prepared based on SRS only so here test cases are prepared based on SRS or Functional requirement or sometimes Usecase. Because we can't understand client reqirements when we see CRS document if we can understand the CRS no need to prepare next documents.
