dear friend when ever u get a sociological question like this try your best to be a diplomat. especially in a group discussion what matters is not the stand you take on a particular topic but all that matters is the way you fight to stand your own ground. it would do u good 2 simply start the discussion on a diplomatic stance n then u should slowly build upon the debate that goes on your initiation. have the tact not to get aggressive anywhere but simply list the merits n the demerits of wat your co participants discuss. by this i dont mean that u should remain silent till the end of the discussion. i would strongly recommend you to start as a diplomat n then grow as a debator. make urself familiar with ur co participants n say something like " friends this is the topic that has been rocking our great indian culture divide ever since our country was first invaded by the mid-east ppl." and slowly develop on this. always remember that the best speaker is the one who has listened the best. so jus keep listening initially n then grab the attention. all the best!!!!!!!!!!!! hope this will help u!!!!!!!!
