Mutiple database could not be connected in a single catalog. So that we use hotfile for this purpose.

RE: how to join multiple db in catalog
Basically catalog deals with single data base, we cannot use multiple data base and that is the disadvantage of catalog, but we can use Hot files to bring another data base source. one more thing by using hot file in catalog another dis advantage is that we cannot migrate reports of impomptu if catalog has hotfiles. we use multiple data base in transformer of PowerPlay and frame work manager of reportnet and Cognos8. I hope this will help and broaden your concepts. by Hamid
