Yes, these things can be repetitive.  However, the motivation comes from knowing you have a direct impact on the quality of a product or service and  once you understand that you make a difference on how users perceive the product under test, all of the repetitive tasks take on a high degree of significance.  In addition, there is always room for improvement and motivation comes from an attempt to improve upon previous performance and produce higher quality products and services.
