| hi, test plan is a document which describes a mangerial and technical approach to test a software or a application It includes so many stages in it..usually this is designed by Test team lead. Thats why it is caleed as high-level documentation.

| Test Planning: Test planning is a strategy document that describes overall approach of testing of an application. Contents of test plan are - Test strategy/Test scope/test objective
- What to test what not to test
- Scheduling
- Resource planning
- Defect metrics description
- Definition of terminology
- Areas to be automated
- Evolution of automation tools
- Risks and Assumptions
