let their monthly income be 3x and 4x,and their expenditures are 4a and 5a.

from the given information income of C is 1/4 of his income,i.e.3x/4.

we know that

income-expenditure=savings

so, in that case savings of C= 3x-4a,

so, 3x-4a = 3x/4

x =16a/9,

therefore ,savings of c =4a/3, and that of D =19a/9

ratio of their savings =12:19

Let the income of C&D be
C=3x
D=4x

Let the expenditure of C&D be
C=4a
D=5a

Savings=income-expediture
Savings of C=3x-4a
Savings of D=4x-5a
Given 3x-4a=1/4(3x)
x=16a/9

Therefore savings of C=3(16a/9)-4a
=12a/9

Savings of D=4(16a/9)-5a
=19a/9

Ratio=(12a/9):(19a/9) =12:19

Ratio of savings of C & D are 12:19

let
income of C =Rs.30/hr (suppose.. x=10)
income of D =Rs.40/hr
expenditure of C=Rs.20/hr (suppose .. x=5)
expenditure of D=Rs.25/hr

we know that
saving=income-expenditure
so
savings of C=30-20=Rs10/hr
savings of D=40-25=Rs15/hr

therefore ratio of savings is 10/15=2/3
