    Per action and shared are the modes in QTP Repository file

     Per action means local for every action it creates separate repository file

     shared means it will creates one repository file for all the actions in the test

These two different types of object repositorys in QTP, When u select the per action mode each and every action in a test QTP  will maintain individual repository

In Shared repository can be associated to a multiple test.

Object repository is a storage device one can store the object information in to it and it also act as a interface between the test script and AUT(Application under Test) in order to identify the objects during execution
