ans is 5 miles

let the capacity of tank is 100 litres

(4/5)th of 100 is 80 litres

(1/3)rd of 100 is 100/3 litres

therefore dist covered by (1/3)of tank is

                 (12/80)*(100/3)=5 miles

Hi victor,
The vehicle runs 12kms for 4/5th of its tank filled, so if the tank is full it can run 12*5/4=15kms
so if the tank is full, vehicle runs 15kms.
so now, if the tank is 1/3rd, it runs 1/3rd of that distance
15/3=5kms
