 Informatica  |  Question 57 of 299    Print
I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.
But the Informatica server service starts momentarily and then stops.
I have uninstalled and installed Informatica twice and removed from the registry as well, but the problem persists.
Does any body have the solution for this

RE: I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.

Have you configured repository database through Informatica Repository Adminsitrative Console ?

After creating repository server you need to do so , so that all the system tables will be stored in your database and Informatica server will actually update it timely for session and workflow run ...

try doing so...

RE: I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.

May be the foolowing reasons may cause to stop the informatica server

1)You have to configure the server in workflow manager and that server name must be declared in informatica server configuration

2) oracle services and reposiroty server should be run before running the informatica server.

let me know if you have any clarifications

Cheers

Samba

Hi Buddy,

Informatica Repository Server can be installed on WIN 2000 server (preferred) without any problems, the client can be installed on any OS but not the server.

If does not work email me dvvnagesh@gmail.com

Regards

Venkat

RE: I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.

1) U need to install Oracle first before installing Informatica

2)need to give user name as Adminstrator & host name as ur computer name while installing

3) need to give proper Product / Database keys

4)give the tcp/ip of ur system in the server configuration of workflow manager & resolve it then you will be seeing ur computer name which shud match with  ur computer name in the properties of MY Comoputer

Check all the above before starting a server

Still if u have questions send me a mail

RE: I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.

Dear friend,

I think u installed informatica 7.1.1 in Windows XP home edition..

PLease note: Informatica 7.1.1 will run only on WIN XP professional only.  not on WIN XP home edition.

So its not the problem with informatica, plz understand. its the problem with the platform XP.

so, Kindly install WIN XP professional.. then u install informatica.. its works

RE: I have installed Informatica 7.1.1 and Oracle.
Step1: first install oracle
Step2: install Informatica on windows 2000

Step3: configure the Informatica server, repository administrative console.

Step4:give correct ip address (note down it)
Start the service in 'services'

Click on restart button in 'services'
If automatically Informatica stopped ..(i have already faced this problem)

Then start services again -> open work-flow manager->click on 'server' tab or open the server configuration-> click on 'RESOLVE' (IF IP ADDRESS IS CHANGED AUTOMATICALLY)
Again restart the
Informatica in 'services'

It will work.. i solve my problem like this...

bye..thank u..
