A defect found is reported to dev, in case if the dev needs to know at what point the defect came up and he wants us to show than v should be ble to produce the defect in his environment...this is called reproducing bug. In case if u r unable to reproduce the bug then it is always good to show dev for the enviroment, snapsshots of the bug found in the test ennvironment.
