Loadruuner can understand exe files. how to test in client server application too. Please clarify? Is there any possibilty to find the perfomance for client server based application?(Ex: Vb SQL server-Product)

Sarvanan,

Yes. To test a Client/Serve application you need to ensure the below,

1. your LR should have liscense for TCP/IP protoclo OR the protocol C/S apllication works on

2. What is the database, SQL or Oracle. Use ODBC Vuser Script for Oracle databse and "SQL Vuser Script" for SQL database while selecting new script in VuGen.

yes LR understand the exc files.

the work of a LR is to findout the parformace of a application.so in a LR we can genrate a virtual user in a one system.and genrate the load on a application.The graph is genrated by the LR with the help of a graph we can findout a load on a application.

Only when the .exe program is communicating with a Server. Ex. iexplore.exe

LR can't understand notepad.exe because it is not communicating with any server. Only a functional testing tool can understand this. Like QTP or WinRunner.

Remember LR works in an environment where Client and Server are talking to each other with a known protocol.
