Hi ,

Test director is a test mangement tool, it is used across all major organizations and is  generally used for management of all test activities in organization.

it is important to learn this tool, but for beginners it is enough to understand how to log defects into it and how to run tests using it.

Test Director is a management tool usually Testing people use this tool for keeping the records of the testing they do for the particular defect in their respective applications.

One could follow the scenario mention in the Test Director and could learn lot of things for their interviews. It is nothing but R & D to understand the flow of this tool.
One could map and record the defect in the Test Director so that they can use it for the future assistance.

Test Director is Mercury Web -based test management tool. It helps you to organize and manage all phase of the application testing process including specifying testing requirement, planning tests, executing tests and tracking defects. We can also create reports and graphs to help review the progress of planning tests, running tests, and tracking defects before a software release.
