Can we execute QTP scripts in LoadRunner? Our system uses a Linux with tandem database. What's a tandem database and primarily what languages it uses like C++ or COBOL. What protocol should we select while creating scripts? like if its web we use HTTP protocol so for here what factors should we consider to select on a protocol.

Hi,

The only way to run QTP scripts on Loadrunner, is to user terminal Client, through this Initiate the QTP scripts from this Client. The system which the terminal client is accessing should have QTP installed. I am not aware of any direct way of running QTP scripts on Loarunner.

Regards,

Raj

We can run the QTP scripts directly thru LoadRunner.

Just select the respective script name in the Controller while building the scenario & run it.

LR will run the scripts as if it's VUGen scripts.

If we run QTP script using loadrunner how will we get the Loadrunner to capture Transactions.  VuGen scripts allow building and capturing transaction tags but is there a way to do the same with QTP?

Yes it is possible to invoke the QTP scripts from LoadRunner when the machine is installed with the QTP and when you run the QTP script file, LR will give you the option in the drop down of the file open with Astra Quick Test as one option and select the appropriate QTP file in LR it will open the LR script in QTP saved format.

Did you ever tried opening QTP script in controller and ran it? Can you share the step by step procedure to run QTP script in LR without using Terminal Session.
