Can anyone enlighten me:

While connecting 2 subject oriented data mart for example SALES & MARKETING, thru common key, but the common dimensional table name alone (not the structure or columns in the table) is different say (year_sal_dim & period_fin_dim). Is it possible to link the datamart. if yes how to solve it. Explain.

yes, you can link 2 datamarts.

if your common dimension (still 2 different instances) has similar column names & more important SIMILAR DATA( exact replica) but has different name,

just add any 1 of instance (year_sal_dim or period_fin_dim) & refine your objects.

I cant get u properly. Could u please explain in more detail about linking of 2 Data marts as well as clarify me if we have objects with diff data type in both the common table, how to link the mart in that cases.
