There are 10 cig packs each conatining an unknown no of cigs( each =pack has between 50 and 100). One pack has all bad cigs . Each good cig =( if u can agree that any cig is good) weighs 1gm. Each bad cig weighs =1.1 gm or .99 gm but all bad cigs weigh same. Using a spring chemical =balance ( which gives u the exactweight) .Find out which pack is bad , =using the balace only once.

you have to take one cigar from first pack,two from second,three from third and so...onten from tenth pack .now place them on the balance.if all cigars are good then the total weight will be 55gms. since there are bad ones if the bad one in first pack the weight gives 0.1lessormore.if it is from second then reading will be 0.2gms less or more and so...on
