Why most of the companys go for manual testing rather than automation testing ,when automation testing useful?

Manual testing is Cost Effective and Perfect.Gui Testing Cant be done using automation. there is an absence of creativity and innovative thinking in automation testing. Automation can be used for the regression testing of the manually tested application and performance testing

 Automation Tools r very cost and it can not be prepared in the begining stage if so is a time taken process when there is any  change in functionality ( change the script ) .

Manually is the best process for testing an application and in this process user can know the Complete system . He can give suggestions when there is difficulty .

we can test an application with out Automation but it is not possible without manual Testing . Ration between these  r 60% :40% in every organization.

manual testing is  the best testing because if there is a bug in a sofware then the test engg can find out that particular area where it is effected & send a defect report to the developer & he test only that particular area whether that bug is debugged are not but in case of automation testing tool he  has to test entire software using record modes & checkpoints.

         even though manual testing is time consuming but most companys follow because this is an effective testing.automation testing is also used to test the performance,load,etc

If you want to know the application clearly should need to test manually then you can go for automation. If you are testing the software manually you can do your job creatively.

Automation tools are highly expensive. So mostly CMM 4 or 5 Level companies are using automation tools where manual testing is also mandatory for them

All Automated tools require timely upgradation in order to get support.
Eg--If a company has TD  v7.5, it will have to be upgraded to QC v9.2.
QC v 9.2 is not compatible with QTP v 7.2, hence QTP will also have to be upgraded to QTP v 8.2
 This is very time and cost consuming. So most of the companies stick to manual testing.
