after logging into the account in windows xp home edition operating system unable to view the deskstop icons.. I have already tried with the disabling the startup items through safe mode as adminstrator and also with the System restore but still I am having the same issue.
How to get rid of this problem?

Just right click on desktop - Properties -click on desktop icon - customise desktop - and check the desktop icons u want

Dear

Create an other user to use Computer Managment and existing user desktop file cut and paste new user desktop

Existing user desktop file location is C:Documents and SettingsITDesktop

Explorer process may not be started this leads in that problem (i.e desktop icons will not be shown) for that press ctl+shift+Esc key that will display task manager in that select new process and give explorer.exe this will solve your problem
