after logging into the account in windows xp home edition operating system unable to view the deskstop icons.. I have already tried with the disabling the startup items through safe mode as adminstrator and also with the System restore but still I am having the same issue. How to get rid of this problem?

Explorer process may not be started this leads in that problem (i.e desktop icons will not be shown) for that press ctl+shift+Esc key that will display task manager in that select new process and give explorer.exe this will solve your problem
