Here if we will record the windows calculator using winrunner,but the problem is those buttons (2,+,3,5) are not standard objrcts.These objects comes under bitmap like objects. So we can record these objects through virutal object vizard.

Precondition before test calculator applications

1)     Check win runner is open

2)     Check the calculator is open

Steps to be followed

1)     set focus on winrunner

2)     Press F2 key

3)     Set focus on calculator

4)     Press 2 button ,+ button,3 button and = button

5)     When you press any button(for example) in winrunner,the statement displayed like

Object mouse-click (?Button_2?, 23, 67);

The arguments for above functions may very depending upon for environment

if you want statement to be displayed when you press button 2

button_press(?2?);

then go tools-> virtual object wizard

    Then map this custom object to standard object
