In PowerCenter we can use global repository, where as in PowerMart we can't use global repository.

In PowerCenter & PowerMart we can use local repositories.

In PowerCenter High range Data Warehouse is applicable, where as in PowerMart Low&Mid range Data Warehouse is applicable.

PowerCetner supports ERP, but not in PowerMart

In power center u can create global repository wherein in power mart u create a single repository apart from this difference u can say that power center is used at enterprised level or where data to be accessed is too large.

•With PowerCenter you receive all functionality, including the ability to register multiple servers, share metadata across repositories and partition data.

•The PowerMart includes all features except distributed metadata, multiple registered servers and data partitioning. Also the various options available with PowerCenter not available with PowerMart like Powerconnect for Siebel, PeopleSoft etc.

Powercenter and Power mart are two flavours/components of informatica.

Power mart is used for small dwh. (like individual department data storage).

Power center is used for enterprise data ware houses.
